As you saw from my previous post we spent Thanksgiving morning with the puppies (whom I am missing terribly right now) and then headed over to my mom's house to finish celebrating this day of Thanks.
My mom was great because this was our first T-day as vegetarians and she made a delicious homemade veggie lasagna with sweet potatoes. In addition, she also made a meat based meal for our one hold out (Jason) so he could still get his "fix". That was very kind of her. I brought a homemade pumpkin pie with walnut streusel topping that was, if I may say so, to die for. So, we were all happy campers.
After chowing down we walked up to the park near my mom's house and let everyone get their blood pumping a bit to avoid a food coma. :)
I was a good girl and only took less than a dozen pictures the whole time at my mom's house. That's some serious self control and restraint for me. (Having said that, I had already taken a bunch that morning with the puppies so maybe that doesn't count after all) Regardless, I didn't spend the whole day with my face behind a lens. My family appreciated it. :)
How great is it for the kids that their grandma will fully participate in all the playground activities?! Even the ones that make her so dizzy she feels like she is going to puke after doing it?! HA! I was on it for all of 2.1 seconds and was DONE. I used to love the craziest roller coaster rides and heck, I've been skydiving THREE times in my life. But ever since having kids, even the mini carousels make me completely nauseous! Grrrrrrr. But my mom was right there with them the entire time. Gotta love those grandmas. :)
On Tuesday, I had spent the ENTIRE day at the kids' school participating in their individual classroom's Harvest Festivals. Ellie's class festival was from 8:30-12:30 and then Gavin's from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. I used my 1 hr break in between to hit the gym (when all I really wanted to do was vegetate somewhere so I'm pretty proud of myself!) :)
I took a ton of pictures of Ellie's class festival because it was such an elaborate multi-hour event but since I haven't gotten express permission to post pictures of her classmates, I am just going to post a few of the pictures I took of her that day. She was my sweet little pilgrim. The kids had a BLAST!
And then Gavin's class Harvest Feast. My boy was being goofy and not letting me take pictures of him. This is what I get when he's feeling like that. That's my boy! :)
Hope everyone had a DELIGHTFUL Thanksgiving! I have a ton of shoots this week so lots of late night editing ahead. It's totally crunch time right now as I see the crazy busy photo season coming to an end in about two weeks and then I'll be off on XMAS break enjoying my family, some much deserved downtime and OUR PUPPY!!!!!! :)
