Oh my! I don't even know where to begin with this shoot! First of all, mom Kirsten is one of the nicest people I know and I am so lucky to call her my friend. She always makes me laugh and, really, is there any greater gift? So that, in and of itself, would be enough to guarantee a delightful session.... BUT, wait, there's more!
She also happens to have the sweetest husband and most deliciously photogenic and unbelievably cooperative children on the face of the planet. This family has been through a lot over the past year and it brings me great joy to have been able to capture so much happiness and good times. What I love most about Kirsten is that she doesn't take anything for granted and maintains a very healthy sense of perspective every single day. Simply put, she APPRECIATES everything in life. She is always my source of good juju vibes! :)
On a side note, I have to mention that it was totally FREEZING that day, as in ARCTIC temperatures! We were all soooooo cold but the kids were amazing and even though little Kaisa was none too pleased with the frigid air, she pulled through as well. She was our little popsicle, right Kirsten!? :)
Emerson and Aiden are twins and everyone knows how much I love photographing twins. Emerson was an absolute delight to photograph and, seriously, I could photograph that girl all day long and never tire. She ROCKED the camera. A PRO. Aiden was the sweetest boy and was so willing to participate in everything we did, and so darn handsome to boot. Kaisa was the little feisty one who kept us all on our toes. She is quite the character that one and her "forced smile" look had me rolling in laughter.
At the very end of the shoot we grabbed a couple shots with their longtime companion and family member, their 13 yr old dog Leo. What a sweet, sweet dog. Made me all that more excited for us to get our pup! The last shot of Leo eagerly running towards them as they call out to him, all smiles and love, totally made me get all choked up.
This was, without doubt, one of my favorite sessions of the year and I am so happy to have been able to be a part of all the magic that happened that day.
The slideshow is a small fraction of all the awesomeness that occurred out there but a good sneak peek.
Kirsten and Andrew, I hope you love the images. :)
