For you long time readers, I know Dani will look very familiar. I've photographed her journey into her parent's lives since before she was even a twinkle in their eye! Kristy and Dave are dear, long time friends of mine and I've had the unique honor and privilege to document their engagement, wedding, pregnancy, newborn shoot, multiple family shoots and just recently a mini shoot celebrating Dani's highly mobile state at 15 months! Kristy also needed a few new headshots for her business so we grabbed some of those too! (side note: if you are looking for a FABULOUS wedding coordinator, definitely check out Kristy's blog HERE)
Dani, as per usual, was completely averse to my camera. When the camera is gone, she is all smiles, laughter and giggles. As soon as the camera comes into view she either glares at me (at which point she looks frighteningly like her father....hahahahah) or runs away. She is a tricky one. But, despite her constant attempts to evade me, and her newly highly mobile state, I still managed to capture her being her adorable self and even got some with that radiant smile of hers. You now what that means Dani? That means I win. So there. Hahahahaha! :)
Here's a few favorites from our mini session together. LOVE YOU GUYS!
Dani refused to sit in my little chair, sit in or on my colorful bucket, wear my super cute hat I brought her, or let me use my OCF set up due to her running in every which direction, but all is forgiven because, well, hello, how cute is she!?
She particularly hated going through the tunnel because her face kept touching PLANTS! EGAD! Is it bad that this is my favorite shot of the session!? :)
I ended up commandeering a wheelbarrow from the location we were at and using it as a prop as a means to "contain" her a bit so she would stand still for a nanosecond. I was even able to train my reflector on her and get some really gorgeous light. I love how playful and coy she is with me.
There's that amazing smile! (She did end up loving my fancy hat - as a HANDBAG! That girl knows what she wants, and already has her own sense of style!)
Then I found this tiny, and I mean TINY, patch of daisies and knew they'd be perfect. And they were. Love these final shots. :)
Oh this next one is just SO Dani!
And now a few favorites from Kristy's headshots. Such a beautiful mamacita!
